“I started at the Rainbow Centre around the age of 3 and left at the age of 10. It changed my life in ways that are unimaginable and even today I’m grateful for my time there.
Starting at age three, I can’t remember much about those early days. However, as I grew older CE became a much bigger part of my life and the Rainbow Centre gave me some amazing opportunities as well as meeting some awesome people during my time there.
One particular time I’m grateful to have the Rainbow Centre and CE in my life was the months leading up to a major multilevel surgery when I was 9. I know that the work they did with me helped me strengthen my body beforehand and gave me the opportunity to make the most of the whatever the outcome would be.
Not only did I learn how to look after my own body, I was also taught important life skills like riding a bike, folding clothes, how to prepare food. And that’s what it made it so effective for me it. CE combined 
physio with things I wanted to do like playing or doing competitions and even doing Christmas shows ( a personal favourite ) . However my time here wasn’t always easy. Being a preteen and quite a headstrong person, there were definitely days I would refuse to do things and maybe tested the conductor’s patience a few times! But CE was like that. Tricky at times but worth all the effort in the end.
Looking back at my time, a few years on has definitely given me a new perspective. CE has helped me be the independent person I am now. It’s taught me invaluable skills and given me ability to build on the opportunities and to make the most of all the work I did at Rainbow. I will always be thankful for my time there.”
